For more than 55 years locally, Big Brothers Big Sisters has provided children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 7 through 18, in communities across San Diego County. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. We aim to serve over 1,800 youth this year. Community support is needed, and there is a urgent call for men to volunteer as Big Brothers to a local child, meeting two times a month for 2-3 hours each time enjoying fun activities they both enjoy.
