Juan Soto receives Citi Field ovation before game-tying single in Mets' win vs. Cardinals

Juan Soto entered Friday's matchup with the Cardinals in a bit of a slump.

The outfielder who signed a 15-year, $765 million deal with the Mets this offseason was hitting just .221 with an OBP of .361 and just three home runs in his first 19 games in Flushing. But it's not just the statline, but the situations he hasn't been able to cash in on.

We've seen him strike out with men on base, grounding into inning-ending double-plays with the bases loaded, and so forth. It hasn't always been pretty, but the Mets fans showed their support for their newest slugger on Friday night.
