J.R. Smith to reportedly sign with Lakers, reunite with Cavs teammate LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers need some help in their backcourt, and it seems like they’ve found it. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, J.R. Smith and the Lakers are are in the final phases of working out a deal that will bring Smith to Orlando for the NBA’s “bubble” restart.

Free agent guard J.R. Smith and the Lakers are working through final steps of a deal today and he will be added to roster for the Orlando restart, sources tell ESPN.

Smith hasn’t played for an NBA team this season, last taking the court with the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2018-2019 season.
