Jon Jones announced his decision to vacate the UFC light heavyweight title on Monday.

Jones most recently competed in UFC 247, where he defeated Dominick Reyes. But Jones appears ready to move divisions, or at the very least leave the light heavyweight division in the past.

"Today I confirm that I'm vacating the light heavyweight championship," Jones tweeted on Monday. "It’s officially up for grabs. It’s been an amazing journey, sincere thank you to all my competition, UFC and most importantly you fans."

Jones added that we will remain in the UFC's "testing pool" for the next year as he continues to "lift weights and train all the different martial arts.
