Jon Jones defeated Alexander Gustafsson by TKO in the third round to regain the UFC light heavyweight title Saturday night in the main event of UFC 232 at the Forum in Inglewood, California.
The stoppage came at 2:02 of Round 3.
The fight, which was a rematch of a thrilling 2013 title bout that Jones won in the closest fight of his career, ends a tumultuous week in which the UFC was forced to move Saturday's card to California because Nevada couldn't clear Jones in time after an abnormal test result.
Then, on Friday, Daniel Cormier announced he was relinquishing the light heavyweight title, saying he would rather give the belt up than have it stripped from him before the Jones-Gustafsson bout.
