John Farrell dismisses iPad use in favor of old-fashioned paper

Call him old-fashioned, old school or whatever, but Red Sox manager John Farrell says he has no interest in using an iPad during a game.

Apple inked a multi-year deal with Major League Baseball last week that will allow managers, coaches and players to use iPad Pro tablets in the dugout and bullpen. And while many will embrace the new technology, the 53-year-old Farrell says he’s more comfortable doing things the traditional way.
