Kentucky coach John Calipari not long ago reached the point in his career where every statement he makes is dissected for hidden meaning. And now he’s reached the point where he is fully aware of this.
On a recent podcast interview with journalist Mike Lupica, Calipari said when asked generally about recent college sports scandals, “All I can tell you is this: If it happens on your campus and it happens with your assistants and those people, you probably have a pretty good idea what’s going on.”

And some journalists who saw that quote immediately assumed he was talking about Louisville and coach Rick Pitino.
