Wrestling legend Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka has brain damage and dementia, brought on by years of wrestling, along with alcohol and cocaine abuse, a psychologist testified Friday in a Pennsylvania murder case.
Snuka, 72, faces third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter charges for the 1983 death of his girlfriend, Nancy Argentino. He pleaded not guilty.
Snuka appeared in a Lehigh County (Pa.) courtroom Friday for a competency hearing to determine if he is mentally fit to stand trial. Psychologist Frank M. Dattilio testified for the defense that Snuka is a "shell of a man," and that, "This is permanent damage, and he's not likely to be restored to competence.
