Jimmies softball swept by North Dakota on the road

GRAND FORKS, N.D. — The University of Jamestown could not overcome a poor third inning in a 3-1 loss to the University of North Dakota on Wednesday, April 9, at the Fighting Hawks’ Albrecht Field.

The Jimmies opened the scoring in the first inning when Kayla Quintanilla hit a single to left to make it 1-0. The Fighting Hawks responded with a three run bottom of the third when Makenna Alexander hit a two-run double and then came around to score on a single two batters later to take a 3-1 lead.

The Jimmies had a chance to fight back into the game in the top of the fourth when they loaded the bases for Natalie Draper who then had a 3-1 count but she grounded into a fielder’s choice to end the frame.
