JAMESTOWN — The University of Jamestown softball team had a big fourth inning and it carried them to an 11-2 win over Dakota State University (South Dakota) on Monday, April 7, at the Nelson Family Bubble.
The Jimmies attacked the Trojans’ Analicia Burgos early in the first inning with the longest at-bat of the frame being a seven-pitch at-bat from Kaitlin McCartney. In total, Burgos threw 23 pitches in the first inning. The Jimmies broke through thanks to a bases loaded walk from Kylie Burgos to go up 1-0.
The Jimmies got two more in the second inning with the first one coming on an obstruction call at home plate to go up 3-0.
