For the second time in three Chase races, Jimmie Johnson watched a potential win slip away with a pit-road penalty.
In the opener at Chicagoland Speedway, Johnson had to serve a penalty for speeding on pit road that cost him the lead. At Dover on Sunday, he lost the chance at the win on a penalty for having too many men over the wall.

Johnson finished seventh and advanced in the Chase, but after leading 90 laps his team couldn't be faulted for wondering what might have been.
