Jim Trotter of The Athletic announced Wednesday that he settled the racial discrimination lawsuit he filed against the NFL last year.
In a statement he released on X, Trotter noted that as part of the settlement, the NFL agreed to make a donation to his Work, Plan, Pray Foundation, which is an organization designed to provide students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities with scholarships in the fields of sports journalism and sports management:
Trotter filed the lawsuit in September 2023 after he was fired from his position as a reporter for NFL Media and NFL Network.
