New York Jets linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin was arrested on misdemeanor assault charges after allegedly attacking a man at a New York nightclub in April.
New York police spokesperson Arlene Muniz confirmed Mauldin turned himself in Wednesday after charges were filed, per Kevin Spain and A.J. Perez of USA Today.
Mauldin has denied he was the person who punched the plaintiff. Jean Lopez, who filed the complaint, said Mauldin punched him after spilling champagne inside the club.
“Another individual struck the plaintiff, and that will be borne out by the witnesses and other parties involved," Mauldin's attorney, Mitchell Schuster, toldLarry Celona,Paul SchwartzandBruce Golding of the New York Post.
