Jets agree to terms on multi-year extension with Paul Maurice

The Winnipeg Jets have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract extension with head coach Paul Maurice, the team announced Wednesday.

Maurice previously signed a multi-year extension with the Jets in September 2017.

During his seven seasons with the team, Maurice posted a 264-186-53 cumulative record, making two consecutive playoff appearances.

Prior to his stint with the Jets, Maurice was likely best known for leading the Carolina Hurricanes to the 2002 Stanley Cup Final, where they lost to the Detroit Red Wings.

Maurice’s 724 wins ranks seventh on the all-time list and he could potentially catch former Buffalo Sabres great Lindy Ruff (736) for sixth place this season.
