The NFL contacted Jerry Jones about whether former Cowboys running back Joseph Randle is connected to sports gambling because several of his run-ins with the law have come in and around a casino in his hometown of Wichita, Kan., the Cowboys owner acknowledged this weekend to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram .
And while Jones said he is saddened by Randle's continued spiral (he has been arrested five times in seven months), Jones emphatically denied that Randle had bet on Cowboys or NFL games.
“Absolutely not. No. To my knowledge, the NFL has no basis of that,” Jones said.
