Jeff Gordon spends extra time on track at Indy, laments restart style

Jeff Gordon enjoyed an extra moment at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday.

He returned from retirement to racing at the Brickyard, finishing 13th filling in for Dale Earnhardt Jr., who continues recovery from concussion-like symptoms.

After the race, Gordon and Stewart drove side by side for a stirring extra lap at the track while Kyle Busch smoked up the frontstretch after his dominating win in the Sprint Cup Combat Wounded 400.

Gordon seemed genuinely touched to have been invited to share in the tribute.

Tony Stewart asks @JeffGordonWeb to accompany him on a parade lap after the race for one final lap around @IMS.
