Japanese team sets record for jump-rope jumps in a minute

14 students from Fuji Municipal Elementary School broke the record for most skips over a single rope in a minute, clearing the rope an astounding 225 times.

The 12 students broke the previous record of 217, set in 2013. Jumping rope is more than a playground game in Japan. Schools often take the activity very seriously, going so far as to have "rivalries" with other schools in their areas. The fact that Fuji's rival HIromi Elementary School was able to hold onto the record for four years is a testament to how impressive it is.
