Iowa State earned a trip to the Sweet 16 Saturday with a 78-61 victory over No. 12 Arkansas-Little Rock in Denver as Georges Niang proved to be too much for the Trojans.
Niang scored a game-high 28 points and hauled in six rebounds to lead the No. 4 Cyclones after scoring 28 points against Iona in the first round. Matt Thomas scored 16 points and star point guard Monte Morris added eight points and four assists.
