It took 71 years for the World Series to return to Wrigley Field and so far, for Cubs fans, it really hasn’t been worth the wait.
On Friday night, at least, the Cubs kept it close at Wrigley, losing a taut 1-0 game against Cleveland that could have gone either way. But Game 4 on Saturday night was a disaster for Chicago. The Cubs put on a display of feeble hitting, shaky pitching and uncharacteristically comical defense that allowed the Indians to roll to a 7-2 victory.
Cleveland, which hasn’t won a World Series since 1948, is now just one victory from ending its drought.
