RIO DE JANEIRO — On a day that opened with a surprise in the men’s Olympic basketball tournament — Australia upsetting medal-hopeful France — Team USA quickly set things right in its opener with a dominant win over China, 119-62.
This was a game that went exactly as it was supposed to go, beginning with the 9-0 run to start the game for the U.S., and right through the 23-point lead the Americans built just two minutes into the second quarter.
