The NFL has decided to take further steps to ensure players stay safe on the field.
Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a memo to all 32 teams that the league will hire a chief medical officer to work with all the medical staffs of each team, NFL.com reported.
The chief medical officer's job will include receiving quick and accurate information about player injuries and issuing statements on injuries and injury prevention, as well as holding responsibly for using funds for research.
