Immanuel Feyi-Waboso has finally undergone surgery on the shoulder he dislocated in December, with the England and Exeter wing now in a race to make the British and Irish Lions tour this summer.
The saga over the appropriate treatment of Feyi-Waboso’s shoulder has continued for two months, with Steve Borthwick having the final say on how to proceed after the 22-year-old had signed an Enhanced Elite Player Squad contract in October which gave the England head coach “final say on all sports science and medical matters”.
Feyi-Waboso had opted to try to rehab the injury so that he could attempt to play some part in England’s Six Nations campaign and impress Andy Farrell ahead of the Lions tour to Australia.
