Icemen slump early in loss to South Carolina Stingrays

Turning point: Charlie Combs and Tyler Weiss each scored in the opening 94 seconds and the South Carolina Stingrays went on to defeat the Jacksonville Icemen 4-1 in Sunday's ECHL hockey at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Three stars: 1. Garin Bjorklund, South Carolina (36 saves). 2. Combs, South Carolina (one goal). 3. Romain Rodzinski, South Carolina (two assists).

Penalty box: The game included four fights, and South Carolina's Blake Thompson (for aggressor) and Ryan Hofer (for a boarding major) each received game misconduct penalties.

Around the rink: Bennett MacArthur tallied the only goal for the Icemen (38-18-5-1).
