After a long and bitter court battle between Hulk Hogan and Gawker Media resulted in a $140 million jury award to the Hulkster, the final number turned out to be a lot less.
Gawker on Wednesday worked out a settlement with Hogan's lawyers in which it will pay $31 million as part of the media company's bankruptcy proceedings. Hogan won a high-profile privacy lawsuit in Florida against the controversial company, which released a sex tape of Hogan. The tape also contained Hogan making racially charged comments, and that in turn resulted in WWE terminating its Legends contract with him and removing all mentions of him from its TV shows and website.
