The Phillies acquired outfielder/second baseman Howie Kendrick from the Dodgers on Friday, days after a report surfaced that the veteran had grown frustrated by his role in Los Angeles this past season.
Familiar with Kendrick from their time together in Anaheim, Phillies general manager Matt Klentak sent first baseman Darin Ruf and second baseman Darnell Sweeney to LA in exchange for Kendrick, who was an All-Star with the Angels in 2011.
