Bayern Munich will kick off its 2016-17 UEFA Champions League campaign on Tuesday against FC Rostov.
Bayern enters the campaign as one of the favorites to win the title. In each of the last three seasons, the club has reached the semifinal but failed to advance to the final. This past season, Bayern fell to Atletico Madrid in the semifinals.
Bayern and FC Rostov are in Group D along with Atletico Madrid and PSV Eindhoven.
In domestic play, Bayern Munich has collected all six points from two matches. The club has a bit of a new look this season; Carlo Ancelotti replaced Pep Guardiola as the team's manager, and the defending Bundesliga champion signed Mats Hummels and Renato Sanches during the transfer window.
