How Kevin Love at center can vault Cavaliers back into real NBA title contention

Facing an eight point deficit with 11 minutes remaining in Game 1, the Cavaliers needed something to get them back on track. That something was Kevin Love at center.

It's not a move we saw much of from the Cavaliers this regular season. Love only logged 8.1 percent of his total minutes at the five, according to Nylon Calculus. But contrary to what Cavaliers assistant coach Jim Boylan told ESPN, it worked rather well when they went to it. Not only did Love see his raw numbers and shooting efficiency increase as a center, his net rating per 48 minutes jumped from plus-6.
