Hornets unveiling new $7 million video boards

The Charlotte Hornets are getting ready to unveil their shiny new video boards at Time Warner Cable Arena, soon to be renamed Spectrum Center Arena.

As first reported in SportsBusiness Journal, the Hornets have scheduled an open house Sept. 9 for season-ticket holders to give them a first look at their new $7 million video board package.

The centerpiece is a new center-hung board made by Prismview, a company owned by Samsung. In addition to the center-hung, the Hornets are adding new LED ribbon boards that will circle the entire seating bowl, plus four corner screens in the upper deck.
