CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Derek Fisher had a healthy team to coach for the first time this season on Wednesday, but the Knicks fell to the Charlotte Hornets, 95-93, with less than a second remaining at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Cody Zeller, who missed two free throws with less than 30 seconds remaining, made a layup off an inbounds play with 0.6 seconds remaining to break a 93-93 tie.
On the ensuing play, Kristaps Porzingis swished a 3-pointer from the top of the key that appeared to give the Knicks a win at the buzzer.
But officials reviewed the play and waved off the basket after ruling that Porzingis had not gotten the shot off in time, giving the Hornets the victory and ending the Knicks’ two-game winning streak.
