HOF clarifies on Seau controversy

Junior Seau will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame posthumously in August, but his family won’t be allowed to give a speech at the ceremony. Seau’s daughter, Sydney, will serve as her father’s presenter — but her comments will be limited to a five-minute video that is played during the enshrinement. Sydney Seau told the New York Times that she is disappointed to not be able to speak for her father, and called the Hall of Fame’s policy “painful.”

“It’s frustrating because the induction is for my father and for the other players, but then to not be able to speak, it’s painful.
