Former Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has accused Manchester United of treating Bastian Schweinsteiger ‘like a leper’ during his enforced absence from the first-team fold.
The Germany international was taken to Old Trafford by Jose Mourinho’s predecessor Louis van Gaal, and the Portuguese manager made it clear shortly after his arrival that the midfielder had no place in his plans.
