William Byron is now a member of Hendrick Motorsports, the team announced Thursday. It's a shrewd move for an organization with an aging driver roster.
Byron, 18, is points leader in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. As a rookie, he has a series-best five victories. And next season, he will drive in the Xfinity Series.

He drives now for Kyle Busch Motorsports but will switch to JR Motorsports next season. JR is co-owned by Rick Hendrick, driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.
