Several hundred people have signed a petition to move the ACC baseball tournament out of North Carolina because of recent legislation that many believe encourages discrimination against gay and transgender people, WRAL reported.
The petition on Change.org has accumulated more than 500 signatures asking the ACC to move the tournament to South Carolina over the recent passage of House Bill 2, commonly called the "bathroom bill." The law says people must use public bathrooms based on their biological sex, and critics contend that the lack of protections for gay and transgender people opens the door for general discrimination.
