Fly-half Jamie Benson came off the bench to engineer an astonishing Harlequins comeback in the final quarter that secured their first away victory over Saracens in 13 years.
Harlequins, who had rested their big guns including Marcus Smith, Fin Baxter and Chandler Cunningham South, for “The Showdown” at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium were 12-0 down as late as the 60th minute.
However centre Ben Waghorn’s well-worked try gave Danny Wilson’s side hope before Benson, who had interrupted his professional rugby career to take a degree at Cambridge University, nervelessly kicked three long-range penalties to put Quins into the lead.
