Jarrod Parker's latest comeback attempt has once again ended with a traumatic arm injury.
The Athletics announced Friday that the 27-year-old right-hander refractured the medial epicondyle in his right elbow Thursday. Parker had been pitching to A's hitters in a simulated game, but left the mound "yelling in pain" after throwing a few pitches. He may be out for the season.
Parker, who went a combined 25-16 with a 3.73 ERA as a starter for the A's in 2012-2013, has not pitched in the majors since 2013 because of arm injuries. He's twice undergone Tommy John surgery, in 2009 and 2014.
