On Wednesday, Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor revealed that two employees called the police on him after he showed up outside a gym in Redmond, Washington. The owner of the gym, Ryan Neal, offered his side in a statement he released to the media Thursday.
Neal contended his employees acted in accordance with the safety strategies he and the Redmond Police Department communicated to them, per ESPN.com's Sheil Kapadia:
We always err on the side of caution when an individual or individuals try to gain entry to the club unannounced. We have recently had attempted break-ins and still have members’ property in the club that we need to protect until returned.
