Gregg Popovich may have only given Craig Sager two-word answers on the court, but he always had respect for the veteran sideline reporter. That was evident last month when the Spurs coach traveled from Atlanta to Texas to attend Sager's funeral, even though he had a game later that night against the Rockets.
He also honored Sager at the funeral by wearing a colorful tie, something the sideline reporter was known for. Craig Sager Jr. (Sager's son) said Monday that Popovich gave him that tie to keep.
Didn't have time to see him at the funeral but met up after last night's game.
