ST. PAUL — Goodhue finished its sterling season on a winning note, beating Sleep Eye St. Mary’s 68-61 in the state Class 1A girls basketball tournament third-place game at Gangelhoff Center.
The No. 1-ranked and seeded Wildcats, who were upset in Friday’s semifinals by No. 4 seed West Central Area, finished their season 26-6 overall.
Star senior forward Kendyl Lodermeier was one of four players with at least eight points for Goodhue. She finished with 18 as well as 10 rebounds. Ava Wallaker had 17 points, Aubrey Christianson 12 and Lola Christianson eight. Ashley Barton chipped in seven.
