Joe Gomez has made his eagerly awaited return to action in a 5-0 friendly win for Liverpool over Accrington Stanley in a behind-closed-doors game at Melwood.
The 19-year-old has been out of action since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in October 2015 while playing for the England Under-21s against Kazakhstan.
The injury was a massive blow to Gomez, who had begun life at Anfield in impressive fashion following his summer move from Charlton Athletic.
But Gomez has stepped up his recovery by playing his first match in 13 months, coming on at halftime against the League Two side.
