Gluck: Bristol race underscores highs, lows of season

BRISTOL, Tenn. — If you want to know how this NASCAR season has gone, look no further than Saturday night's race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

After all, it seemed to be a microcosm of the entire year:

-- The Joe Gibbs Racing cars had the most speed overall, as usual. Three JGR cars combined to lead 320 of the 500 laps.

-- Kevin Harvick finished second — again. That's the 10th time he's done so this season.

-- Team Penske's cars were fast enough to contend and were in position to strike when it mattered most, with Joey Logano picking up his third win on three different types of tracks (superspeedway, road course and short track).
