EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The Giants lost their most accomplished and experienced offensive lineman last week when left tackle Will Beatty tore a pectoral muscle and had surgery that will sideline him until at least early November.
On Wednesday, during an off-season workout, a surprising and entirely reconstructed offensive line took the practice field, an alignment charged with protecting Eli Manning and paving the way for the improvements the Giants must make to recover from consecutive losing seasons.
The rebuilt line could prove to be the pivotal gamble of the Giants’ 2015 season.
Ereck Flowers, the 21-year-old first-round draft pick from Miami, is the new left tackle.
