EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara, one of the team’s best defenders this season, will be sidelined for the next two to four weeks with a partially torn pectoral muscle, Giants Coach Tom Coughlin said Thursday.
Amukamara injured his chest in Sunday’s victory over the San Francisco 49ers. The four-year veteran Jayron Hosley will replace Amukamara. When Hosley has filled in for starting cornerbacks in previous seasons, he struggled to cover the top receivers of opposing teams. But this year, forced to fill in for the Giants’ other starting cornerback, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, he has fared much better.
