The San Francisco Giants announced Monday afternoon that manager Bruce Bochy was hospitalized after feeling ill.
Bochy was taken to a Miami hospital Monday morning and will remain there overnight for observation. Bench coach Ron Wotus will serve as manager for Monday night's game against the Marlins.
In a team statement, the Giants said Bochy "is resting comfortably and is expected to return" Tuesday. Giants outfielder Hunter Pence was taken to a hospital in Washington after a foul tip hit him in the face during Saturday's 7-1 win over the Nationals. Pence is expected to be back in the lineup for Monday's game.
