Giants 22, Jaguars 12 (Exhibition): Giants’ First-String Offense Trips Again

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The Giants are expecting major production from their offense, and from Odell Beckham Jr. in particular, if they are to rebound from last year’s 6-10 record and end a string of three consecutive nonplayoff seasons.

Through two preseason games, there is no evidence that those expectations will turn into reality.

The Giants’ first-string offense continued to sputter Saturday in a 22-12 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Beckham, coming off a dazzling season in which he set franchise rookie records for catches (91), receiving yards (1,305) and touchdowns (12) despite missing the first four games with a hamstring injury, remained without a reception halfway through the preseason.
