Dee Winters, a Texas Christian linebacker, said last week that he expected Georgia to try to beat the Horned Frogs with its tight ends on offense. One particular tight end, more specifically. “I expect them to just come in and try to target Brock Bowers a lot, and that’s really it.”
Winters was right.
The game plan early in the first quarter seemed to get Bowers the ball in any way Georgia could. Bowers caught two passes for 33 yards on the first drive, and on the next drive Georgia ran a double reverse with its running back handing the ball off to Bowers, who rushed for 5 yards.
