Georgia Tech's Justin Thomas plans to push young team to 'step up' this season

It all came down to experience, and Georgia Tech lacked it last season.

For that, the Yellow Jackets plummeted. Veteran quarterback Justin Thomas suffered, and there wasn’t much the redshirt senior could do about it.

“Justin was surrounded by guys who had never played,” coach Paul Johnson said Thursday at the ACC Kickoff in Charlotte, N.C. “The chemistry was not going to be that good.”

The unbalance translated into a 3-9 record, marking the Yellow Jackets’ first losing regular season since 1996.
