Florida now has a national championship in baseball.
The Gators dodged some late trouble Tuesday night in Omaha to beat LSU, 6-1, and take home the first baseball title in program history. Florida swept the best-of-three series against its SEC foe after taking Game 1 on Monday, 4-3.
In Game 2, Florida plated single runs in the bottom of the first and second innings, then had to hold on late.
The Tigers collected three hits in the seventh, but only managed to score once thanks in part to a runner's interference call that erased one run.
