Opening day for the 2025 Major League Baseball season is taking place Thursday. 80 former baseball players from current SEC schools are on 2025 MLB opening day rosters.
63 former student-athletes are on active rosters, while 17 are on injured lists. Former players from SEC schools are also represented on 27 MLB teams.
Florida and Vanderbilt lead the SEC with 11 former players on 2025 MLB rosters. Four former Vols are represented on opening day: Jordan Beck, Garrett Crochet, Seth Halvorsen and Ben Joyce.
