Dale Earnhardt Jr. was a big proponent of the new aero rules on display Sunday at Michigan. But as drivers raved about the new rules, Dale Earnhardt Jr. couldn’t have cared less.
“It’s not a whole lot different than the other package. I think we talk about packages too much,” he said.
Of course, Earnhardt was frustrated at the time, having just gotten into a wreck with Chris Buescher that relegated him to a 39th-place finish. After a much-needed runner-up finish at Pocono that snapped a mini-slump, Earnhardt was hoping to build some momentum at a track where he has won twice.
