By the late 1990s, Christian Laettner had established himself as a two-time NCAA champion and one of the 10 greatest players in college basketball history, as well as an NBA All-Star with nearly a decade of completed seasons on the back of his basketball card. So it had to be kind of a thrill for the young players assembled at the Five-Star Basketball Camp that July afternoon to hear him present a lecture about the game.
It wasn’t that big a deal, though, because they’d been around him so much. He wasn’t some guest lecturer who jetted in for the afternoon.
